Our Fees
At the start of any transaction we will do our best to advise you of the likely cost that you will incur to bring your matter to a conclusion. In some cases we are able to offer a fixed cost for the entire matter or if we are not then you will be advised of our hourly charging rate and our assessment of the likely cost of dealing with your matter. We will be happy to give you regular updates as to the total costs that have been incurred and the likely anticipated future costs.
VAT: To find out whether VAT at the rate of 20% will be added to our charges and as to whether it will be payable on disbursements, please click here.
In addition to our standard services we also offer:
Divorce, Family Law and Children Matters
We offer a free no obligation half hour appointment for divorce, dissolution of civil partnership, cohabitee disputes, children disputes and financial matters arising out of the breakdown of family relationships.
We generally charge an hourly rate to which VAT will be added (if applicable) at 20%. Disbursements may be payable and VAT will be added to the disbursements (if applicable) at 20%. View disbursement costs here.
Wills
Our minimum charge is £475 plus VAT (if applicable) at 20% for the preparation of a single simple Will and £625 plus VAT (if applicable) at 20% for joint mirror Wills.
For the preparation of more complicated Wills please call us to obtain a quotation.
Personal Injury
We offer a free no obligation initial half hour appointment for personal injury cases.
We may be able to undertake work on a conditional fee (“no win no fee”) basis. We would normally notify you within 14 days of an initial interview as to whether we would be prepared to undertake the work on a conditional fee basis and, if so, the basis of our charges and whether we would charge a success fee if we win your case and the amount of that fee.
Where you are successful with your claim, often the costs and disbursements payable by the Defendant or their Insurers will not be sufficient to cover the work we have undertaken or the full amount of the disbursements (view charges here) and you may need to contribute towards our fees and disbursements, including from damages awarded to you. We can discuss that when we agree to take on your case. VAT will be added to our charges and to disbursements (if applicable) at 20%.
Court Hearings Only
If you are happy to deal with part of your case but need somebody to represent you at Court, we can arrange for one of our experienced Partners or a barrister to attend Court and represent you or simply advise you whilst you conduct the case.
Payment for our Charges
For larger cases we may be able to accept payment by instalments. Please contact us to find out more. We also accept most debit and credit cards.
